Parenting support
If your pregnancy was not planned and you’re considering parenting, you may have more questions than answers about birth, baby care, and parenting.
Whether you are single or married or planning on co-parenting, we are here for you to help you navigate an unplanned pregnancy and beyond. We know it can be a stressful time no matter what you decide, but we offer a team of medical professionals, social workers, and relationship coaches to support and empower you every step of the way.
MATERIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (MAP)
Bridge Women’s Support Center's Material Assistance Program (MAP) is the largest Material Assistance Program in New York. We provide tangible support to all women who are experiencing financial difficulties. You can obtain needed maternity clothes throughout your pregnancy.
Prior to your baby’s birth, we gift you with a Welcome Kit which contains a Layette Bag as well as the basics needed to bring home your newborn. All these items are donated by generous individuals and organizations from your NYC community who wish to help struggling mothers in need. Some even take the time to make hand-made blankets to include in our Welcome Kits. It’s their way of welcoming your baby and showing you they care and want to help.
We continue our support after your baby’s birth as well. You can receive additional clothing for your infant and other children every three months up to child size 10-12, along with diapers, wipes, bottles, strollers, highchairs, etc. To enroll in the program, we require a referral from a social worker.
By helping you obtain these needed items and provide for your family, we hope to alleviate any financial strain you may be encountering in caring for your newborn so you can enjoy this special time with your baby.
